Welcome to Speed Post (referred to as “we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform and services, including booking courier and freight services through third-party logistics providers in Australia.
By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Our Role
Speed Post is a shipping aggregation platform. We help users compare rates, book shipments, and manage deliveries with various third-party couriers and freight carriers across Australia. We do not operate as a carrier or logistics provider.
2. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete shipment information (weight, dimensions, content, address, etc.)
- Ensure all shipments comply with applicable Australian laws and customs requirements
- Package items securely and label them correctly as per carrier guidelines
- Pay all fees, including surcharges or penalties incurred due to incorrect information
3. Carrier Relationships
- Bookings made via Speed Post are fulfilled by third-party carrier.
- Each booking is subject to the terms, conditions, and liability limitations of the selected carrier.
- We do not guarantee pickup or delivery times. Carriers are solely responsible for the actual shipment handling.
4. Prohibited Items
You must not ship items that are:
- Prohibited by Australian law
- Hazardous, flammable, or illegal
- Fragile or high-value items without appropriate insurance
Refer to the respective carrier’s list of prohibited items before booking.
5. Fees and Payments
- Prices shown on the platform include carrier fees, applicable taxes, and Speed Post service charges.
- Once a shipment is booked and paid for, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for cancellations, incorrect shipment details, change-of-mind, or failed deliveries due to user error.
- If a booking fails due to an issue caused by the carrier, users must raise a dispute directly with the carrier under their terms and procedures.
- In cases where Speed Post is at fault, we will review the issue on a case-by-case basis, but we do not guarantee any refunds or credits.
6. Liability Disclaimer
- Speed Post is not liable for delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier or due to inaccurate shipment information provided by you.
- Any claims for lost or damaged parcels must be filed with the carrier directly.
- You agree that our maximum liability to you in connection with the use of our platform is limited to the service fee paid to us, if any.
7. Insurance
- Insurance coverage may be available through certain carriers or via optional add-ons at checkout.
- It is your responsibility to purchase insurance if required and understand what is covered.
8. Account and Platform Use
- You must be 18+ years old to create an account or place bookings.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse or policy violations.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the revised Terms. Please review them periodically.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales.
